Deadslackstring and Rusted Rail are proud to announce the release of "The Whispering Woods" by Cubs - a recording project featuring members of Phantom Dog Beneath The Moon, United Bible Studies, C Joynes, Plinth, Agitated Radio Pilot, Yawning Chasm and other travellers on the folky-margins. Featuring eleven musicians and thirteen songs, the album was recorded in Ireland, England and Africa. Born out of improvisation, Cubs have delivered an album album of 21st century psych-folk stylings comprised of late night lysergic lullabies, occasionally electrocuted acoustica and cosmic composition, while also finding time to take in spectral strings, backwoods progressions and tripped-out trad. Robert Sarazin Blake releases his new record, 'The Belfast Sessions' on 29th April 2011. Recorded in Belfast and Bellingham over the course of 2 sessions, the album features trad maestros John and Tina McSherry and Francis Mc Ilduff. Over the course of the album, Blake sketches songs of the everyday, of love, (of the weather) against a backdrop of uillean pipes, bodhran and guitar. The album features Blakes most accessible work to date, most noticably in the future radio hit, 'Waiting' and poetic ' City Covered in Snow.' A punk, folk, trad record, written and conceived in the two wettest towns this side of Glasgow.
Peter Delaney's 7 track debut album 'Duck Egg Blue' will be re-released on deadslackstring records on 6th June 2011. Previously available on limited cdr, Delaney's release caught the attention of many across Ireland, with his gentle, lilting melodies, and exquisite ukelele playing. Tender falsetto vocals are married with naturalistic lyrics, to weave a world of beauty and gossamer light soul.
